My dad, John “Jack” Dickerson, was born in Goshen, New York, in 1919.
His mother, Nellie Dalton Dickerson, and her mother before her were also born in Goshen. He was immensely proud of his roots in Goshen. After graduating from Yale with an engineering degree, he returned home to build a life, raise a family, and establish a local business.
Jack owned Dickerson and Meany Insurance Agency, now known as Emory & Webb, with an office on the village square.
Giving back to the community was a core value, and he devoted countless hours to volunteer service throughout his life.
A passionate golfer, he was a longtime member of the Orange County Golf Club, where he served as president for many years. His faith was equally important to him, and he was a dedicated lector at St. John’s Church in Goshen.
Above all, Jack loved his children and grandchildren. A man's true measure is found in the lives he touches and the love he leaves behind. By that measure, he was an extraordinary man.
Love you, Daddy.
