Keryl Oliver Inducted
The Goshen Rotary had a busy morning meeting on Tuesday June 2nd when we hosted two guests.
We started with the installation of new member, Keryl “Kiki” Oliver, by Sponsor Doris Obremski. Kiki is a life coach and children’s author of Oh, How You Sparkle! A Love Story for Every Child. You can find her book at the Goshen Public Library. She is currently working on a second book among other things and is ready to roll up her sleeves and dive right in to keep connecting with our community in any way she can. We are thrilled to have Kiki joining us as she has so many innovative ideas to help grow our club.
We also hosted guest speaker, Bill Fioravanti, CEO of the Orange County Industrial Development Agency………
We also hosted guest speaker, Bill Fioravanti, CEO of the Orange County Industrial Development Agency, who gave a clear and concise explanation of IDA Incentives and tried to dispel the myths associated with those. Bill gave us handouts so that we could better understand how the PILOT program, Payment in Lieu of Taxes, works. He also stressed the goal of trying to keep businesses and high paying jobs and not just warehouses in Orange County. Bill Fioravanti is a long time Rotarian and is Past President of the Wallkill East Rotary Club. We thank him visiting us and giving us insight on this very important topic.
